Emily Willert

Marketing and 
Development Coordinator

Emily Willert is the Marketing and Development Coordinator at SMILES, where she plans events and fundraisers, oversees social media and website updates, and writes grants. She works closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to share the SMILES mission while fostering meaningful connections. Emily’s passion for helping others began early, in 2013, she began bringing her horse to assisted living communities, a tradition that brought smiles to residents’ faces and inspired her career path. Then in years after she began giving beginner to intermediate riding lessons, which continued to show her the career path she hoped to pursue.  Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts from Alverno College in Integrated Studies, with additional studies in psychology and business management. She has also been a certified grant writer since 2022. Outside of work, Emily enjoys trail riding with her horse, Luna, volunteering with a car racing club, and reading.
