Victoria Atkinson

Vice President

Educator, Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Victoria is honored to serve SMILES on the Board of Directors. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History and then went on to attend Boston University where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. She was a Special Education Teacher for 6 years in the Greater Boston Area and previously was the Volunteer Coordinator at Old World Wisconsin. She currently serves as the Curriculum Coordinator at the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Victoria’s sister, Elizabeth, is a long time client at SMILES and her students at WSBVI are also clients; seeing their growth motivates her work at SMILES. Growing up on a dairy farm with animals allowed her to experience the therapeutic benefits that animals provide and she is excited to be apart of a program that allows individuals to access these same benefits. She wants to thank everyone for their efforts at SMILES – it is an awesome team to be a part of! Victoria enjoys spending time with her dogs, baking, playing tennis, and trying new restaurants with her friends and family.
